Keep in mind you can't top off your SIM card once your current one expires, you'll have to purchase a new SIM card, so make sure you put enough credit when you first purchase. Physical SIM Cards are available both at the airport before immigration and all over the city. E-Sims are not widely available, but Global E-Sims work fine and have similar pricing.

Getting to and from the airport
Train (NT$150 | 35min to the city) Taking the Taoyuan Airport MRT airport to Taipei Main Train Station airport express is the most convenient way to get to the city.
You can purchase an “Easycard” at any 7-11, Family Mart, Ok Mart, or Hi-Life, for NT$100. This rechargeable card can then be used for trains, buses, MRT, and Ubikes. Use the Go Taipei Metro (Android | iOS) app to help with navigating the city metro.
You'll find scooter rental shops nearby most train stations (both gas-powered and electric ones available). The average rental cost per day is NT$500.
You will likely need an International Driver’s Permit, or Taiwanese License to rent a motorbike or scooter. For scooter rental and sharing check out: SKRT RideGo iRent Moto Rental Town Taipei Scooter Rentals
