🟢 Open to international travelers

This year, Portugal lifted all COVID-19-related travel restrictions. Travelers no longer need pre-travel tests or proof of vaccination. In mainland Portugal, there's no legal requirement to self-isolate. In Madeira, the Azores, and Porto Santo, if you test positive for COVID-19, you have to self-isolate for at least 5 days.

Where can I get a PCR or antigen test within 24 hours?

For the nearest testing facilities consult Portuguese health authorities (SNS) using the Portuguese COVID-19 Health hotline for Madeira: (+351) 800 24 24 20

Can I get vaccinated here as a foreigner?

Yes! If you do not have a National Health Service number, simply sign up for a vaccine here.

section type iconVisa information

Portugal does not have a digital nomad visa yet. However, digital nomads who want to stay longer in the country than 30 days can apply for the Portugal Passive Income (D7) Visa. If you need specific visa information and help with applying, check out the Digital Emigré.

If you want to relocate to Portugal, you should check out Rebase.
